I’m sure many of you have heard of the popular Flash game Bloons. Well, now it’s on the DSi Shop. Unfortunately, it’s not a particularly good port. Sure, it’s the same style of classic Bloons gameplay and many levels from the Bloons games were included, but the graphics are far below those of the Flash game version, and some levels are mercilessly difficult. By that, I mean you need a perfect shot from one very specific angle, and then you need to make another perfect shot from a very different specific angle to beat a level. One of the fun and challenging aspects of Bloons is that you’re supposed to figure out and plan where to throw your darts. Instead, you spend most of your time trying to find the perfect angle.
There’s honestly not too much else to say. The biggest drawback to the game is, oddly enough, the Flash game version. The Flash game version is much better, and it’s free. The DSi version is much lower quality and it costs 500 points. It would be much more worth it if it were 200 points or even free. I don’t really recommend this unless you absolutely want to be able to play Bloons on the go.
