Thorium Wars is a futuristic vehicle shooter in which you must fight off aliens. There are several different vehicles and diverse landscapes, but it's actually rather a bad game. For one, you are pretty much alone. You'd think you'd have at least some military backup or something, but instead you're sent in to fight hundreds of aliens completely solo. For another thing, there are no special attacks, only your basic weapon. The game is also brutally hard at points, and I found one of the most successful solutions to be just to take one shot, go in reverse until I'm out of range, move forward, take one shot, and repeat.
The game's graphics and sounds are probably its high point because a lot of other things just feel unfinished. It almost feels like this was a beta of the game. I've heard that it gets much better later on, but I never made it that far because it was very difficult and I lost patience. I do not recommend this game.
